I'm from New Orleans. We have no shortage of good restaurants there (well, we DID, anyway). However, our selection of Indian food left much to be desired. While Nirvana had good food and atmosphere, the service was not all that great. India's is a completely different story. The service was prompt, polite and excellent. The food was outstanding. I had the shrimp vindaloo and it was fabulous. The basmati rice was cooked to perfection and the waiter brought us a huge bowl of naan bread. I had a wonderful chai concoction with dinner. They even offer an interesting little blend of herbs and spices to munch on after dinner to cleanse your breath. All in all, a great restaurant with excellent food and service.
